Valuation Advisory

    Valuation of Other Assets

Understand the value of the assets you are deciding about

When selling, transferring or economically assessing assets, you need to know what they are worth and what that value is based on. The book value need not correspond to their current economic value.

Aprecia provides advisory on the valuation of individual assets both on a stand-alone basis and in connection with a business valuation. We tailor the scope and manner of the assessment to the nature of the assets, the purpose of the assignment and the available documentation.

    What we assess and value

    Financial investments and interests

In determining value we take into account the nature of the investment, the expected returns and the related risks. For ownership interests we also assess the economic situation of the company concerned.

    Tangible assets and technological equipment

In our economic assessment we work from the available technical documentation and from the condition, usability and remaining useful life of the assets.

    Receivables and liabilities

We assess the value of receivables with regard to the expected payment, its timing and the risk of non-payment. For liabilities we evaluate their economic impact on the situation being assessed.

    Inventories

We take into account the type, condition and turnover of inventories and the options for their further use or sale, including circumstances that may reduce their value.

    Contractual rights

We assess the economic contribution of rights arising from contracts, taking into account their terms, duration and the options for their use.

    Customer portfolios and distribution networks

We evaluate their ability to generate future returns, the stability of business relationships and the risks associated with maintaining and further developing them.

When a valuation will help you

    • When planning the sale or transfer of specific assets.
    • When negotiating a price and assessing an offer received.
    • When changing the ownership structure or the arrangement of assets.
    • When you need to assess the significance of individual assets for the value of the business.

    What you receive

The output is a valuation or an economic assessment in the agreed scope, with an explanation of the procedures, assumptions and conclusions applied.

We help you understand which characteristics of the assets and which related risks influence the result and what the findings mean for the intended decision. We tailor the form of the output to the purpose of the assignment.

    What documents we will need

To start with, a description of the assets and of your intention is sufficient. We then specify the documents required, for example accounting records, contracts, technical data or information on income and costs.

Do you need to assess the value of specific assets?

Tell us about your intention and the assets it concerns. We will agree a suitable scope of assessment and the documents required.
